Built for complete beginners

More than learning how to fight.

John has coached martial arts since 1994. Teenagers do not need shouting or empty praise - they need clear expectations, patient coaching and the chance to prove to themselves what they can do. There is no pressure to spar or perform before they are ready.

  • Build confidence and focus through coached striking and grappling drills
  • Develop useful fitness and resilience at their own pace
  • Practise listening, decision-making and speaking up in a supportive group
  • Finish with a clear next step if they want to keep training

Before you book

Questions parents often ask.

Does my teenager need any experience?

No. This is complete beginner coaching. Everyone starts with the same fundamentals and progresses at their own pace.

Is it safe for my teenager?

Yes. All training is closely coached and contact is introduced gradually and under control. Safety and supervision come first, always.

Does my teenager need to be fit already?

Not at all. The course is designed to build fitness as they go. Coaches adjust intensity so every teenager can train at a level that suits them.

What should my teenager wear?

Comfortable gym clothing and trainers are fine to start. Personal boxing gloves are included with the course, so there's nothing extra to buy.

What happens after the four weeks?

John will talk you through ongoing options, including the Teen Martial Arts Programme Membership, with no pressure to continue.
